Web fame spreads
By Free Press staff The recognition keeps pouring in for
12-year-old Website wonder Keith Peiris of London. He has won several industry honours for
Cyberteks Design, his Website design company. But his latest recognition is among children
his own age.
Owl magazine, aimed at those age nine and up, has profiled him in its Wonder Kid feature
in the December issue.
Keith, who has been the subject of several Free Press articles, built his own Web page two
years ago and became so skilled with Macromedia, he was called up on stage by Macromedia
chief executive officer Robert Burgess at an industry conference.
Since then, Cyberteks was named one of the top 50 web development and service companies in
Canada and its designs are frequent finalists in industry competitions.
Cyberteks now employs two full-time and four part-time workers and has won contracts with
companies such as Kewl Threads hockey wear and Interep, the largest independent national
radio sales representation firm in the United States.
"Most people don't know my age when I go to work on their Website," Keith is
quoted saying in the Owl article. "And by the time they find out, they don't
care."
